Student Ambassadors

We <3 our Ambassadors!

The WSU Everett Student Ambassador Program seeks to enhance the college experience for prospective and current students at Washington State University. Ambassadors represent WSU Everett and its many entities to prospective students and families, current students, faculty, staff, community members and guests of the institution at recruitment and retention programs.

Are WSU Everett Ambassadors paid?

Ambassadors will be compensated in the form of a scholarship or tuition waiver. Funds will be applied to the student’s account each semester they serve as an ambassador. (This excludes Summer Semester.)”

*2022-2023 funding has not yet been secured.

What kind of a commitment is the Ambassadors program?

This is a volunteer-based program and all ambassadors are asked to attend the following:

  • Training (1-2 days during Spring Semester & 1 day prior to Autumn Semester)
  • Autumn & Spring New Student Orientation
  • Spring Commencement

Time commitment varies depending on the ambassador’s availability to attend events but, generally, an ambassador may spend 1-2 hours per week dedicated to campus tours, participating in panels, program planning and preparation.

My GPA is below the required 2.5. Can I still apply?

If your GPA is within a reasonable range of the 2.5 requirement, go ahead and apply. If you are selected to be an ambassador, your status will be reassessed once semester grades come out. If at that time your GPA does not meet the requirement, your status will remain on hold and can be evaluated again after the next semester.

What is the selection criteria?

Academic strength: Students who can take on the ambassador responsibilities without affecting their academic standing.

Involvement in department/college/university activities: We are looking for students who are engaged in the university in some way (clubs, community service, etc.) and who demonstrate a desire to improve the recruitment and retention of students at WSU.

Ability to write well as evidenced by the application.

Ability to communicate and work well with others.

Personality: The ability to connect with others. Not every ambassador has the same personality traits and strengths – and that’s okay!

Will I be called for a personal interview?

Applicants who make it through the initial screening will be contacted for an in-person interview.
