Fortive creates a Fortune 500-size business headquartered in Everett

In the economic-development treasure hunt, corporate headquarters — especially those of companies with billions of dollars in annual revenue — are rare and prized jewels.

The city of Everett just grabbed one of those glittery gems, without the hassle of a lengthy and involved recruitment campaign. In doing so, it returns to the Northwest the management of two of the founding companies of the regional high-tech industry: Fluke and Tektronix.
