2021 WSU Veteran and Military Students Symposium: “The Power of a Veteran Ready College”

The 2021 WSU Veteran and Military-Affiliated Students’ Symposium is being held virtually March 23 starting at 9 a.m. Pacific Time. This year’s theme is “The Power of a Veteran Ready College”. All those interested in military-affiliated and veteran student issues at WSU are invited to attend virtual events throughout the day, including great speakers and presentations.
Symposium Agenda as follows (participants will be provided with a ZOOM link that will allow access for all sessions to attend as they wish):

9:00 am – 10:00 am Opening Session and Symposium Kickoff (remarks from President Kirk Schulz, and informative updates from Jaime Nolan, Chris Mann, Matt Beer, Jeff Willadsen, Penny Martinez, Michaela Loveridge, and Michael Highfill)

11:00 am – 12:00 pm Student Panel Discussion to raise awareness of veteran and military affiliated student challenges (President Schulz, Provost Chilton, and VPSA Gonzales in attendance).

1:00 – 2:00 pm Workshop for Faculty and Staff facilitated by special guest Derek Abbey (CEO of Project Recover)

3:00 – 4:00 pm Roundtable for WSU Veteran and Military Affiliated Students with representatives from Cougar Health Services, WSU Access Center, and the Spokane Vet Center

6:00 – 6:30 pm Inspirational Keynote Address from Abby Kinch (VP of Programs and Services, Student Veterans of America)
