Engineering scholarships offered to WSU North Puget Sound at Everett students

Washington State University at Everett Community College

EVERETT, Wash. – Nov. 5, 2015 – In the fall of 2016 and 2017, the Intermec Foundation will offer five $2,500 engineering scholarships to WSU North Puget Sound at Everett students, totally $25,000 in financial aid to future engineers.

“I am absolutely thrilled about providing this scholarship opportunity to our students thanks to support from the Intermec Foundation,” said WSU North Puget Sound at Everett dean Paul Pitre. “This contribution will make a difference in the lives of our students, many of whom are the first in their family to pursue a college education.”

The scholarship will be awarded to multiple students pursuing a degree in mechanical, electrical or software engineering at WSU North Puget Sound at Everett.

Current or incoming WSU North Puget Sound at Everett engineering students should apply through the WSU General Scholarship Application by Jan. 31, 2016 to be considered for the five scholarships awarded in the fall of 2016. Students should have a current grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher, indicate financial need in their application, be from the North Puget Sound region and express an interest in working in the region after graduating. Students with a GPA below 3.0 may still apply, but will be subject to the selection committee’s discretion.

“Because of our students’ drive and opportunities afforded to them at WSU North Puget Sound at Everett, many of our engineering students have job offers before they graduate,” Pitre added. WSU North Puget Sound at Everett currently offers mechanical and electrical engineering programs. Software engineering is planned for the fall of 2016.

Student should contact associate director of Student Services Ciera Graham with questions about the scholarships.
