By looking at four distinct histories of exclusion, citizenship denial, and the stripping of the rights guaranteed to citizens through different time periods and locations during the 19th and 20th centuries, this panel discussion will analyze how racially and religiously motivated persecution and exclusion affected minority groups in Europe and the Pacific Northwest. The event is intended to spark larger conversations about persecution and racism as they continue today. Panelists include Patricia Heberer-Rice (US Holocaust Memorial Museum), Allison Davis-White Eyes (Fielding Graduate University), Chris Stout (Oregon State University), and Jacki Hedlund Tyler (Eastern Oregon University). This event, hosted by OSU, is part of a collaborative effort between PNW universities and the US Holocaust Memorial Museum. Register to receive Zoom link: https://beav.es/UPW
