WSU Everett Scholarship Fund
Students thrive in small classes with expert faculty. They develop the knowledge and skills needed for a global economy through work with industry leaders like Boeing and Janicki Industries. The WSU Everett Scholarship Fund allows these students to fully engage in their studies, student life, and community service. Scholarships also help recruit and retain high-achieving students.
Ray Stephanson Leadership Fund
Ray Stephanson Scholars are student leaders with a desire to use their education to benefit the community, qualities in keeping with the fund’s namesake, who served as mayor of the City of Everett from 2003 through 2017. Mayor Stephanson was a vocal supporter of The Boeing Company and a champion of strengthening and diversifying the regional economy. Mayor Stephanson and the late WSU President Elson S. Floyd were the driving forces behind the establishment of WSU Everett, Snohomish County’s only four-year research institution. The Boeing Company generously donated funds in recognition of Mayor Stephanson’s service to the community. Scholarships from this endowed fund support the next generation of community and business leaders.

Baker Family Scholarship at WSU Everett
Established by Gary and Darcy Baker to honor the multigenerational WSU legacy of the Baker family, the Baker Family Scholarship supports students studying Business Administration at the WSU Everett campus. Gary (’81, Business Administration) served as WSU student body president 1979 to 1980. His father, Archie, an Everett native, attended WSU until joining the Navy during World War II. After the war, Archie completed his undergraduate degree, served as a state legislator from Everett’s 38th district, and practiced law in Everett for 25 years. Gary’s mother, Jeanne (’46, Human & Natural Resource Sciences), taught elementary school in Everett, then launched and ran the Childhood Development program at Everett Community College. Continuing the family tradition, Gary and Darcy’s son, Peter, graduated from WSU in 2016 and went on to work for WSU’s Department of Earth Sciences in the School of the Environment.
