Biography
I am a Scholarly Assistant Professor with the Carson College of Business School of Hospitality Business Management at Washington State University Everett. I have taught a full range of hospitality coursework, including managed services and human resources. Most of my courses are designed using hybrid and online course delivery, with experience designing over 20 courses. I have taught and researched internationally in Switzerland, Malawi, Tanzania, and Saudi Arabia. In 2023, I was inducted into the WSU Teaching Academy. I have over 20 publications and conference proceedings to my credit, including publications in the Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Cases, The International Journal of Higher Education and Democracy, and The International Journal of Servant-Leadership. I am a reviewer for the Hospitality and Tourism Graduate Student Education and Research Conference and am an Assistant Editor for Narrative Magazine. Previously, I had over 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry, with 20 of those years in management positions in restaurants, hotel food and beverage operations, and managed services. I have served as Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs on the WSU Everett campus. I am currently serving as the campus Academic Director for Carson College of Business.
