Katie is a proud Coug Alumni, graduating with two bachelor’s degrees in Agricultural Education and Agricultural and Food Business Economics in 2014 and 2016, respectively. While completing her degrees, she worked for the College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences (CAHNRS) as the college’s first Internship Coordinator. Then she accepted a position with the National Association of Agricultural Educators in Lexington, KY as the Meeting Planner and Program Assistant. In that role, she was responsible for planning and executing an annual convention for 800+ members, as well as scheduling smaller professional development events across the country, throughout the year. While chasing a busy one year old, Katie managed to finish her master’s degree in Adult Education with a curriculum and instructional design focus from Troy University in just one year (2018). Family eventually brought Katie back to the great PNW, and she is so humbled that in her role as the Clerkship Coordinator in the new Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine, that she can contribute even a small part to seeing Dr. Floyd’s legacy come to life.
Katie lives in her hometown of Stanwood, WA with her husband, Neil, their two young children, Heid and Helen, and their dog, Mowgli. If they are not watching Cougar Football, you can usually find the Wood family working on various house projects, arts and crafts, baking, or hanging out at the family farm.
