Are you a new student at WSU Everett? Do you need an I-20?
Here are the steps you need to complete:
- Contact your DSO or International Student Services Advisor at your community college or transfer institution, and have them transfer your SEVIS record to WSU Everett
- Please contact Pam Loughlin to set up an appointment to receive your I-20. To this appointment, please bring a passport and Visa.
International students must maintain 9 credit hours in a face-to-face format. Only three credits can count towards the full time requirement for F-1 and J-1 International students (12 credits undergrad, 10 credits grad). An “online” class is defined as a class that can be completed from anywhere via computer.
Students can be concurrently enrolled at another school and use these credits to count towards the full time requirement. The majority of the credits need to be WSU. The timing of concurrent enrollment needs to align fairly close to the semester. Please consult with Pam Loughlin, firstname.lastname@example.org to complete the steps for concurrent enrollment.
Optional Practical Training (OPT)
Most students complete OPT after the completion of their degree program; it is recommended that students apply three months before degree completion. No job offer is needed to complete OPT application. Once a student’s OPT card arrives, students can file for a 24 month STEM extension. For more information about the OPT process, click here.
Curricular Practical Training (CPT)
Should only be used for students who need to complete an internship as part of their degree requirement. Programs that do not stipulate students complete an internship must be enrolled in an internship course concurrently. As it stands now, HBM is the only major where students are completing work/internship as part of their degree/graduation requirement. Students must have a job offer letter in order to be approved for CPT. For more information about the CPT process, click here.
