Tuesday, March 2, 10 am: Panel Discussion on “Erased Histories: Memory and Memorializing Persecution in Germany and the Pacific Northwest”
Panelists Bob Bauman (History), Phil Gruen (Architecture), Margo Hill (EWU), and Susan Neiman (Einstein Forum, Germany) will examine historical experiences of memorialization in Germany and the Pacific Northwest to spur conversations about persecution, racism, and forced forgetting. How does commemorating racially-motivated persecution and the attempted erasure of these traumatic events affect how we remember history? Hosted by the Center for the Arts and Humanities in partnership with the US Holocaust Memorial Museum.
